Why Japan refuses to endorse NPT statement? Officially, because Japan is protected under the US nuclear umbrella. But, many of us are aware, the rulling party's ulterior motive.

Dear Mr L., I must say the Japan now is not like that as you see 7 years ago. And more changes would be seen in coming days. Restoration? might be. New political party is growing which insist on the restoration of Japan, some members crudely saying that the Constitution of Japan is invalid, instead Meiji Constitution (Constitution of the Empire of Japan) is valid. You know what does it mean. I must admit there is too less power to resist them. Liberals in Japan is like a candle flickering in the wind. You say Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) is persisting? As I have said before, most of the members of LDP hate liberalism, and hate democracy. Of course there are some respectable ones in the party, they are avoided. Cold wind of natoinalism is blowing in a mind of youngs, who get news from internet. I can't know why yahoo news prefer to get information from one side. Also I can't know why microsoftnews have tied up with that extreme-right newspaper.

A mayer of Ohi town agreed to re-start nuclear raectors. He doesn't know the Fukushima? Yes, he knows. He chose the government subsidy on nuclear plant instead of the safety from nuclear accident. Over decades, the government supplied so much money to local towns for accept nuclear plants, resulting that they need the government subsidy for their public administration.

The government said that the nuclear plant is safe enough to re-start operation. We know it's incorrect. It have not yet accomplished many reinforcements nessesary for emergency cooling, which the government themselves pointed out.

More than a year have passed.
We know how many peoples in the world encourage us Japanese. We deeply appreciate your kindness and support. Uwajima locate in about 700 km west from Tokyo. I felt no quakes here on March 11, 2011, but second effect are gradually sweeping over us.

I was in Tokyo for a meeting. Tokyo night is not so cloudy as before, and is not so dazzling as before, but the daily life goes as usual.
April 16, 2011
There are some saying "if we abandon nuclear power plant, then we must abandon our usual life with electricity." That's funny to stop thinking of new energy resource. I think we must come beyond the nuclear power to new energy policy. Cherry blossoms are over, the daily life goes as usual in Uwajima.
April 11, 2011
In local election yestereday, nuclear power plant dependent prefectual governers are reelected. I can't understand the peoples who still believe they can handle any nuclear power, in the midst of this awful disaster.
April 5, 2011
Many think that the government do not make public the data of nuclear pollution. We know the sea near the beach is more polluted, but they show the data of several Km away from the beach.
April 2, 2011
My children are studying at colleges in Tokyo. They were in Uwajima during the spring holidays, but today they left Uwajima for a new term. They have received an information that the opening ceremony is cancelled.

"Have a pride" does not mean "domineering". Regretfully, there are some who are confusing them.
March 30, 2011
TV says everytime "Keep your mind calm, it not affect your health immediately, even though the radioactive level is over the safety standard." Today, at last, a professor pointed out it is a misleading expression. But I don't know TVs change their expressions.
March 28, 2011
Some medicines are out of stocks, which have been manufactured in Tohoku area.
March 27, 2011
I recognized it is difficult to buy water pet bottles even here in Uwajima. Also it's hard to get flashlight battery. I hear someone get water bottles and send them to his family living in Tokyo. Although Tokyo Waterwork Bureau declared that the radioactive iodine level returned under the standard, many peoples seem to be afraid of re-rising.

The price of gasoline heve raised about 10% from two weeks ago. I hear today that husband of my sister in law, who works at Shikoku Electric Power CO., will go to Fukushima nuclear plant for help. Although his political standpoint is opposite to mine, I really wish his safe and health. |
March 14, 2011
I hear some medical staffs of Uwajima will go to Tohoku for help.
March 11, 2011
I saw TV reporting Tsunami, swept away everything. I do not know how to describe it.
